Eli wanted a wand one day, so Logan decided to whittle one for him, and then used fire to burn in the pattern on the bottom. Sometimes I am glad I calm my inner mommy worry and let them try things; often it results in great things and happy kids.
Oh definitely! Our kids are often limited by our groundless anxiety. I've decided that the admonition to 'be careful' is useless and just makes them feel they aren't capable and trustworthy. luckily I don't have to try to change that as my kids are out of earshot now.
