One of the first adventures in Colorado was to go on a candy factory tour. Emily and her boys, as well as Grandma came with us. We learned lots of cool things: this company uses machines original to the company (from 100 years ago), candy makers are trained for 6 months to 2 years, and candy makers follow their pieces of candy from start to finish!
It was cool to see some candy actually being made, and interesting to watch it change color through the different heating, cooling, and stretching processes.
Of course, the best part was the shop at the end of the tour and the fact that Grandma offered to buy everyone a few dollars' worth of candy! Yummy!
