He says this a lot lately as he holds any number of things (a shoe, a toy) over one eye. Funny boy.

Father and Son Campout

Logan got to go to the Fathers and Sons camp out again with Jason this year. When I asked him how it went when he got home he said, "It was PERFECT!"

Jason and Logan both looked forward to it all week. Last year, Logan stuck pretty close to Jason the whole time, but this year Logan spent most of his time running around with the other boys getting muddy and throwing things into the fire. He was excited to tell me, "if you throw a plastic cup into the fire, it MELTS!" Ah, the joys of being a boy on a camp out!

Sleepovers, again

These two sure love sibling sleepovers. And they are pretty good at settling down and going to sleep when it is time to sleep. Eli is another matter, and in future sleepovers he will have to go sleep in his own bed once the playing is over, but it sure is something they all love.

Not a Detective...

...a protective, a zoo protective to be precise. All the stuff courtesy of the the dollar store. And yes, most of it was broken within two days, but all the kids, and especially Logan, get SO EXCITED when they get to go buy something from the dollar store that I don't even care; that dollar provided two very happy days, and honestly he probably would have lost interest in the toys at that point even if they hadn't broken.

Sprinklers

The kids had so much fun playing in the sprinklers the other morning. Getting a few drops on them and running away is their style, rather than getting soaking wet, but Logan had swim gear on just in case. Ah, the joys of being a kid in the summer!

Pack-At

Eli wears his backpack, or pack-at, all the time and everywhere we go lately. And what is so important that must be carried with him at all times in the backpack? Play food. 

The Artist

Logan still loves to draw, paint, and create. And still amazes me with the details he can convey in his art (not just a boy and a birthday cake, but a boy clearly blowing out the candles on the cake). He so prefers to create his own art that coloring has never been his thing, and so I was shocked to see a picture come home from school colored perfectly within the lines. Funny the things you don't know about your own kids and their skills!

The Happiest Place on Earth...

...may very well be Disney World to most people, but my kids have never been there; if you were to ask my kids where the happiest place on earth is, I am pretty sure they would all say, "Chuck E Cheese!" So we went a few weeks ago, much to their delight. Eli loves the ride-on toys, Logan loves the games, and Ali loves the things that take your pictures, like this one:
