Eli Friend

He's famous...!
OK, maybe not, but he really is a good helper!

Grandpa Quillen

My Grandpa passed away June 27th and I was thankful for the chance to go out to Utah for his funeral. I have been lucky to have this man in my life for so long! Here are some pictures of me and him throughout my life:

And then here are the pictures from the funeral. The casket and backdrop were so beautiful!

Lego Master

Logan can create AMAZING things with his legos. Here is the setting of one of his favorite movies "Where Eagles Dare," complete with a functioning cable car, helicopter, and base.

Park

We thought our neighborhood park was open and were so excited to check it out. But when we got there we realized the "closed" sign was still there, but had just fallen down and so was being ignored. Hard (and annoying) as it is, I try to be a rule follower with my kids. Even if I think the rule is silly or is one others break constantly, I really want them to know that rules are to be obeyed, so, we do (sigh). Logan and Eli were bummed and headed home, but Ali and Jake decided to make the most of being outside in a different place and had pine cone throwing contests, races, and climbed the rocks. It was a good second choice activity.

Memorial Day

I know Memorial Day was awhile ago, but here is the post. It was the first time we ventured out of quarantine and spent time with other people in a few months, and it was SO NICE! It was great to be out of the house, with other people (who happen to be some of our favorite people!), and have some great food. It was such a good day.

Cousins!
We brought Max and it was so funny to see him and Cooper interact. It was his first doggy date.
S'mores (and one token picture of the Moms!)

It was such a nice day!

Eli's Monsters

Boredom the mother of creation, and we've had lots of both around here this summer!

Memory Boxes

The kids all got out their memory boxes the other day and laughed at early writing, oohed and ahhed over baby clothes, and snuggled old loveys. So fun to see these "old souls" reminiscing.

Water Table

Jake has enjoyed his water table a lot again this summer. I especially like how he'll pull up a big chair by it--why not?

Go Carts

We watched "Cool Runnings" on one of our Friday night movie nights. The kids were still giggling about the movie and quoting lines from it the next day, which happened to be family fun day, when they hit on the idea that going go carting would be the perfect pair to their new favorite (for the moment) movie. How can you argue with that logic?

I like having fun with these people!

Ali Bread

Ali had to make banana bread for her home economics class at school and it has become a family favorite!

Jake Dog Man

One morning I found Jake IN Max's kennel. Jake was reading his favorite book Dog Man to Max. It was hilariously appropriate!
