The older three spent the bulk of several days creating Harry Potter mini movies with their Harry Potter Legos. They got quite elaborate with sheets for "snow" and fishing wire to make things fly and move. Such fun kids.
Our first one in braces! He's thrilled, can you tell? But really, he's excited to get the process started: the sooner they get on the sooner they'll be off!
I so appreciate how the kids' teachers are trying to make the best of this crazy year. At the last supply pickup a bag of red solo cups was included and we wondered if it would be part of some science experiment-but no!- she sent them home so they could have a little Valentines Day party at home and play some games. Bless these teachers!
It had been so long since we'd been to the mall, when Jake asked to put money in one of these little things I actually said yes (I've never done that before!). I feel a need to celebrate any "normalcy" these days.
The inevitable has happened: Logan is taller than me. He had a huge growth spurt the last few months (in our family pictures from late October he was noticeably shorter than me, and these pictures are from the beginning of the month, so maybe 3 inches in 3 months)! We warned him all growing up that at some point Ali would probably be taller than him (since girls usually get growth spurts earlier than boys), but she never came closer than about an inch shorter than him. I hope she still has at least another inch or two of growth because it looks like she's going to have at least one pretty tall brother.
One of Ali's goals this year was to work on her drawing skills. She checked out some how to draw books (they lay out a picture step by step) and then spent the better part of several days off school drawing. I am truly amazed by the things she can create.
Eli spent quite a bit of his allowance money on Hubba Bubba gum (he was very clear he wanted that exact kind) and has been working on his bubble blowing skills.
On February 1, for the first time in 325 days, Ali and Logan got to go back to school!
Ali brought her camera to school to take pictures for the yearbook and caught these two cute photos. They're the only kids at their bus stop right now (last year there were about 15). Maybe there will be more when (if) they stop doing A and B days.
