Last Day

It's hard to believe, but the year is over! These amazing kids thrived in third grade and kindergarten and now it's time for Summer Fun!

More amazing Legos

I know we have lots of blogged proof that my kids love legos and are super creative with them, but come on, how cool is this cruise ship?!

State Floats

The big third grade project is to make "State Floats" so of course, we got to make two: Ali had Colorado and Logan had Utah. Conveniently we have Grandparents in each of those states who generously supplied pictures and post cards that helped to make these two floats even cooler! Ali and Logan are even more excited to visit their grandparents this summer than usual because they want to see some of the places they found out about in their research!

In addition to the floats, the third graders put on a musical with the speaking parts going to the 20ish kids out of about 100 who behaved the best during the long months of practice beforehand, and we were so proud that our two were among those chosen! Way to go Loves!

Sleepy Reader

Every day after lunch Jake asks to go "night night"; he loves his naps almost as much as I do. I usually let him take a book or two to bed with him and this day he apparently fell asleep reading. A kid who loves to read and nap? He must be mine!

Mother's Day

I sure enjoy the love I feel from my kids and husband on Mother's Day. I woke up to a feast surround by (mostly homemade) gifts and three excited kids. It took me about 15 minutes to ohh and awe over everything they gave me and I smile at my mantel full of cards and creations every time I see it.

I sure love this family of mine. I lucked out for sure!

Help

I so love it when my big kids see an upset baby brother crying at a mommy who is trying to do something and they take him away and make him happy! Logan is reading Jake his current favorite library book I'm the best artist in the ocean. The last pages fold out and every time we get to the end Jake unfolds it and says "da da!" for "ta da!" and then says, "Again!" and wants it to be read again, and again, and again...

Interesting

"Mom, do I look interesting?" Yes, my love, you do. But then, to me, you always do!

Sewing

I mentioned to a friend that Ali was sewing things out of tissues and she took pity on her and gave her a bunch of her sewing scraps. We didn't see much of Ali the next few days because she was in her room happily sewing away, and was particularly pleased by how her new shirt turned out!

Hat

Jake had a great time entertaining himself with this hat.

Houdini

Logan likes to try to get untied from crazy knots; we have our very own Houdini in the house!
