I finally convinced Logan that you don't always have to follow the 1,000,000-step directions that came with the lego set he got for his birthday, but that you could build something from your own imagination. Now he loves to build with them and comes up with some truly amazing creations!

I think I liked lego better when there were just the bricks. No people, wheels, ship hulls etc. They were still made by the kids but in their immaginations. I guess it is good for them to follow the constructions, as my kis called them, too. My brothers still played with them in their late teens. An aunt sent them from Germany before they were available in the USA.

I never liked making things without the instructions except for houses for our little dolls. My brothers thought it was a use blasphemous use of legos.
