"Fruits" of our Labors

Here is the first vegetable we picked from our garden: a tiny, rather spicy red pepper. It has been a learning experience. I am now about 99.9% sure that the rows I thought were carrots and cucumbers were actually our garden's best watered weeds, but hey, I wasn't sure so I kept watering. We are getting a fair number of green beans and lots of tomatoes, so it wasn't a total waste.

What a cute picture! And now you will know what to look for next year. I will show you what plants look like when you come...soon! :)

hah I LOVE that picture so much. I love that it shows your personalities. I miss you both! I cannot wait to see you!

I am convinced that it takes at least 3 years effort to get anything out of a garden. For me so far, the magic ingredients are manure and peat moss. Of course things might be different where one actually gets rain and the sun doesn't burn things regularly.
