Happy Halloween

We had a fun Halloween, and I even got a picture of all the kids together before they all went off in different directions! We had a ghost, a basketball player, a teenage boy, and Enid from Wednesday. Jake trick-or-treated with me and then with his dad, Logan went and watched The Sixth Sense with two friends who'd never seen it before, Ali went trick-or-treating with her friends and so did Eli. Happy Halloween!

Also, Ali painted this cute little pumpkin at Young Womens.

Pickleball Park

Jason and the older kids wanted to play pickleball, so Jake and I decided to tag along and go to the park. It was a beautiful day and we all had a good time.

Happy Birthday to ME

I love my birthdays. I love all the calls and texts, I love being spoiled, and yes, I still like getting presents! Jason usually decorates the house for me, and this year he cracked me up by giving all my Halloween decorations party hats and noise makers! I love this man!

Halloween Party

The teens were super busy this October and decided they were ok skipping our annual Halloween party, but Jake was all for it! He and I threw together these creepy treats the hour before the party (a couple new ones I'd seen pictures of and a couple of our favs). Jake made signs for all the treats and threw on a costume when his first guest arrived. 

The friends had a good time snacking, watching a movie, and investigating the possibility of a ghost- or ghosts!- hunting our house. The ghost hunt concluded with a ritual to banish the ghost or ghosts back to where they belonged  (and with me assuring a couple of the friends that there had really never been a ghost, with the hopes that they would be brave enough to come back to our house in the future!).

Happy Birthday Eli

It was fun celebrating our fun, smart, creative 14-year-old! He had two parties: the first with his school friends at the mall doing a scavenger hunt and the second in the evening with his church friends at home watching a movie. We're so lucky to have Eli in our family!

Homecoming

Ali went to Homecoming with several of her good friends.

Linda is a lovely girl. I literally prayed that she and Ali would be in the same AP Chem class this year, and am so thankful that they are. 

Kate is another of Ali's best friends. 

It was fun doing Ali's hair and taking pictures of her and her friends! Sure love this beautiful girl.

The Wild Robot Date

Jake and I stole away one afternoon to see the movie The Wild Robot. It was such a cute movie, and my date was even cuter. 

 

MJ

Eli's pet leopard gecko died. He hadn't been eating much for months, and we even got worried enough that we took him to the vet (something I had previously vowed not to do). Eli took really good care of MJ, so we know it was just one of those fluke things. RIP MJ.

Logan's Gym

Logan decided that what he liked best about football and track was the time spent in the gym. So, he decided to not do the team sports again this year, and instead use that time and money to go to a local gym. He spends an hour or two a day six days a week there and has filled out enough that he needed all new clothes this fall!
